Book Adaptations

Earthen Witch, Fiction, Photography, Random Thoughts

Heya Lovelies,

Here’s Day 30: Would you want your WIP made into a movie or TV show?

A comundrum.

Ever since the journey began with Just Breathe, it’s been a complicated tale, to say the least. From the lore and rich history, to the complexities of the supernatural world’s problems as well as personal hurdles, there’s just too much to fit into a single movie.

A TV show would probably be best to flesh out as much of those as possible — or at the very least a series of movies to encompass the whole story would be best.

On Twitter, I’ve been taking part in my first-ever fiction prompt during the month of January. I’m sharing them here as well.

Stronger Than Blood is the latest installment of the Earthen Witch universe, following Marcy and Liam’s journey. It will be released on Smashwords and their network of retailers on February 20th.

Until next time,
Sarah

  1. I would like to see “Cult Child” made into a movie. Although it would be dark, it would educate the world on what it’s like being a child growing up in an abusive cult. I hope to work on a script soon. I have ideas in my head.

My current WIP, my first sci-fi book would be an expensive movie to make. It’s layered. It would need a lot of CGI effects to bring the characters to life, so a producer would have to be very vested and sure of the response. It might make a better Hulu short series with say, 7 episodes. Still, the visuals would require effects.

  2. On a side note: I would definitely let the pros do the screenplay. All I would ask is that they don’t stupidhead the characters/story, that they let Elsie have her naturally curly/frizzy hair, and that they don’t try to “improve” Barbara’s character by making her as tough as Elsie and/or make her an edgy queen.

I probably have some other “Please Do/Please Don’ts”, but those are my top three.

  3. I totally agree with you. I’d rather see my story be turned into a tv show instead of a movie. Either way, it would be super surreal to see my characters being portrayed by actors. I’d especially love to see who they’d choose for Mark Caten, Isellta, and my Vampire Trio.
