It was the wickedness of your soul
that drew me to you. That wild glimmer
in your eyes, held me captive. Every breath
was a gentle whispering, like a hummingbird
in flight. Together, we conquered. Together,
we prevailed. Together, time was our enemy.
At last, together, we lost it all.

Hi, Jona! I don’t have an email subscription or a newsletter for the time being, however there is a way to ‘follow’ my blog via WordPress and have them email you in several different intervals, depending on your preference. If it helps, I post once a day at the same time.

For some reason it reminds me of the movie, “Hancock” Together they conquer, but if they remain together, they lose it all, including their lives.

I really liked the words and how they flow, the passion, but I don’t understand the wickedness of your soul, combined with gentle whispering like a hummingbird in flight. This latter reminds me of a beautiful vision of peace and serenity. Can you explain this to me? I really love your poems and typically “get” them. But, this one throws me off.

It’s a duality of a person and as a couple. Their capacity to do what’s necessary to survive, to be brutal if needed, but between the two, it was gentle and sweet.

Of course. I really don’t mind explaining. I know sometimes I can be a little too cryptic.

If it helps, I wanted it to be a juxtaposition between the beauty and the savage.💕
