Ages

Poetry

It’s been ages since
I’ve held you in my arms.
To say that I miss you
is an understatement,
but what I miss the most
is how free I felt
in those moments
it was just you and me
and the air we shared.

  1. I don’t know, Sarah, your imagination certainly has wings. This poem is ethereal. That last line, it was as if that “shared air” made me weightless. When one has such memories, the loss is cancelled out. Give me the memories any day – I can have those forever.

  2. I love this one! On first readthrough, it sounds like it’s pretty straightforward – about that one special someone who got away. But then when I read it again, I realized it could have a couple of other interpretations. And that’s what makes it awesome. 😀

  3. The air is no more same
    The sunshine no more bright
    The stars no more twinkle
The moon no more shows way
    The touches no more felt
The heart beat no more sings
The soul is no more dancing
    You left
    Everything changed
