Kneeling

“Didn’t you know?
She brings my world to its knees.”

I was warned to watch out for the storms, the destruction of her fury. But I glimpsed the beauty of her face when the rains cleared. Every day, I experience the miracle that is her. So when they asked me, “Why do you love her?” I had one answer.

“Didn’t you know? She brings my world to its knees.”

She can be beauty and destruction.
But she is the reason we exist.
Let’s take better care
of this blue wonder we call home.
