Saving You

Poetry

“I was the lucky one, being a part of your life.
I only wish I could’ve saved you.”

It was haunting, to say the least. To see the light slowly fading from your eyes. To hear your screams echoing against the was. It was torture. Waiting all those hours. Watching you die a slow, painful death. All I could do was be there for you, even though you probably had no idea that I was. I only hope you remembered how much I loved you. And how much I miss you, now that you’re gone.

I will remember every moment
I was lucky to spend with you
for the rest of my life.
I just wished I could have saved you.
