Here To Stay

“So please, remind me every day that
you’re here to stay.”

It’s hard to describe what it feels to belong. After so long of mistrust, heartache, and pain, it’s like waiting for the next tragedy to happen. As if being happy is merely a short-term reprieve, and it’s only a matter of time before I’m alone again. I try to remind myself every day that I’m safe. This happiness is here to stay. But a whispering voice continues to call from the shadows. Filling my head with doubts. So please, I beg you, remind me every chance you have to tell me you’re here to stay.

I can’t lose you, too.
