Flickers

“And I remember.
I remember the intimacy between us.”

Flickers of memories flash before me as the projector points to the smoke-stained wall. I see the spots where our candles used to burn long into the night. And I remember. I remember the laughs we shared together. The intimacy between us. That electricity. I remember us and all we were. I can’t help but smile at the memories, even though my heart is empty and longing with you gone.

At least your memory lives on.
