I Say

“Oh my love, what can I say
other than I love you?”

And it happened again. The doubts that sometimes cloud my thoughts. Making me question everything I thought I knew. Wonder what would happen if my biggest fears would come true. Before, I’d let those thoughts longer. I’d dissect every minute detail of our time together. I’d watch the look in your eyes, searching for signs of validity in those fears. But you never wavered before. So this time, rather than keeping those thoughts hidden, I didn’t let the fear in. I asked you, without hesitation, if you wanted to be free of me. You answered as you always have before. With just as much volition as you’ve always shown me. You said you made a vow. That you were exactly where you wanted to be. So, my love, what can I say other than I love you. With all of my heart. For the rest of time. And it happened again. The doubts that sometimes cloud my thoughts. Making me question everything I thought I knew. Wonder what would happen if my biggest fears would come true. Before, I’d let those thoughts linger. I’d dissect every minute detail of our time together. I’d watch the look in your eyes, searching for signs of validity in those fears. But you never wavered. With just as much volition as you’ve always shown me. You said you made a vow. That you were exactly where you wanted to be. So, my love, what can I say other than I love you. With all of my heart. For the rest of time.
