Ricocheting Thoughts

“I’m not sure how to describe
the silence you bring to
a constant hum of fears.”

My thoughts ricochet from topic to topic so fast, I can barely keep up. It’s like a constant background noise, keeping me awake for days at a time. Keeping me on alert, when there is no danger around. And sometimes, in those rare moments those thoughts slow down, you’re there. I’m not sure how to describe the silence you bring to a constant hum of fears, worries, whispers, and doubts.

So, darling, hold me
a little longer.

  1. “And sometimes, in those rare moments those thoughts slow down, you’re there.” I really like this line. It’s like after all of those anxious thoughts calm down, there is clarity and you can see what’s right in front of you.
