Do You Love Me?

Poetry

“Having you with me is like a dream come true.
And I don’t want to wake up.”

How could I ever forget that smile of yours? How could I not read your body like an open book, read from cover to cover over and over again? How could I not look into your eyes and forget what beauty really means? Because having you — having you with me — is like a dream come true. A wonderful dream that I never want to wake up from.

And I can’t help it. I love it when you tell me how much you love me. I love it when you look at me like I’m the only thing in the room — the only thing that matters.

But I can’t help it. I still wonder sometimes. Do you love me? The way I love you? Like the world will implode if you left? Do you feel me the way I feel you? Can you read me like I read you?

  1. Oh, Sarah! Your words are filled with moving and deep emotions, and as always, touch my heart and bring me joy for having read them! This makes my day! I can already hear my soul starting to hum! So elegant, heartfelt and yearning too! Capturing what we all wonder and feel, but unlike you, are not brave enough to put into words! Bellissimo! Sarah, Bellissimo!!!

    1. Oh, I understand. It’s taken me a long time to build up the bravery to be this raw and honest with my feelings. It’s not easy, but it’s who I am, so I try not to hide it. Thank you, as always for the kind words!

      1. I can understand what you mean! Sharing isn’t always easy, even when you are a writer. Sometimes the wounds take a long time to scar over so sharing is no longer painful! Thanks for being Brave!!!! Bravo!
