Loving Anyway

“But let me tell you this:
loving you wasn’t a choice.
It was inevitable.
And I loved you anyway.”

It didn’t matter to me
what anyone else thought.
It didn’t matter if you
were wrong for me.
I tried to listen
to those whispers,
knowing our odds.
But let me tell you this:
loving you wasn’t a choice.
It was inevitable.
And I loved you anyway.
We might end in heartbreak,
but I just can’t bring myself to care.

  1. I know this all too well…

“But let me tell you this:

    It was inevitable.
    And I loved you anyway.
    We might end in heartbreak,
but I just can’t bring myself to care.”

    Beautiful, Sarah!

  2. Boy have I been in that position before. Can’t say it ever ended well, but there is something about the pull of love. Especially when you know from the beginning it will end in heartbreak, but you just don’t care. You really can’t choose who you love, but hopefully in the mix is the right person to love where it doesn’t end in heartbreak. 😉
