Hide And Seek

“No matter where I am or what I’m doing, my heart is always searching for yours.”

No matter where I am or what I’m doing, my heart is always searching for yours. I can feel your absence like a chasm in my chest and the ache is so strong that I start to count the moments. As if that might bring you back to me. As if it would stop me from dreading the instant you’d be gone again. It’s like I’m caught in a painful game of Hide and Seek, and once I catch you, the game starts all over again.

Another year older, and maybe,
if I’m lucky, a little wiser.
I hope today is an amazing one.

This was written in response to the #NovemberNotes challenge. Today’s inspiration was Hide And Seek by Fatai.
