Life Jacket

“She was never your life jacket, so stop treating her like one.”

You wanted someone to love you. To devote her life to whatever cause you felt was necessary. To keep your life just so, or you’d have to correct her with violence. I’m curious where you learned that this behavior? When did a devoted partner turn into a slave? She was never meant to carry you on her shoulders. She was meant to stand by your side. As your equal. She was never your life jacket, so stop treating her like one.
