You say you notice the pain in my eyes,
but what you fail to see is the cause.
You.
Time and time again, I watch you walk away like I mean nothing. I can see how you treat me, like you’re dangling candy in front of a child. And I fall for it, every time. Not seeing the predator behind your eyes. And when it’s all over, you say you notice the pain in my eyes, but what you fail to see is the cause. You.

Hi Sara,
I am sad when I am reading thing like yours.
Only two things are immutable. Our parents, and the place we are born.
People think they are irreplaceable, but in fact, they are not!

The breaks in this first part
“You say you notice the pain in my eyes,

You.”
made the piece so powerful. It carries you in with the emotion and question, and the answer delivered with one word, standing alone in its own line really delivered a punch. Fantastic piece, Sarah.

Oh this is so good… my heart weeps. I “liked” it but really there should be another icon for “oh, me too.”

I can completely relate. I understand it and then I don’t. It’s so disheartening especially if it’s family. It is extremely deep and cuts even deeper. I hope you can get some peace.

It is very sad moment when the person who is the reason for your pain ignores you.
