How true your poem is. It is hard and takes courage to bare one’s soul. I don’t know as if
we ever really do totally. Share we must though or our words are empty.

So very true. I think as poets, and writers in general, not everything we write is through personal experience. But as writers, we can empathize and we share compassion, but they are never empty.
Truer words were not spoken. Sometimes, I think the worst part is not being ignored, but having someone use your words in a way you never intended and for reasons that appall you.
It is scary, this baring of one’s soul to the world. So far I’ve felt safe somehow, on WP. Have met so many other compassionate, supportive poets. We seem to all find each other….
I couldnt agree more with this statement. I personally am going through a battle right now. I feel so inadequate to be on this platform😳 I almost feel like throwing in the towel 😢…
Writers all have down times. We could be burnt out, blocked, any number of things. The key is knowing that the words will come. The next idea will come. Just be patient and don’t give up what you love.
