Braille

He laid open like a book,
for my fingertips
to trace his skin,
as if it were

  1. love the deliberate exclusion of the word ‘open’ before ‘book’. this helps to heighten the metaphor of braille – the lover has to go ‘blindly’ over the body, with no clue to the ways the body functions. nice one.
