Bokeh

My life isn’t —
shrouded by an
oblivion of darkness.
The bits of light
that remain are
kept safe
in my heart.

  1. I like how you put a period at the end of the first line, like that line without the second was its own declarative in need of its own period. Also this is way more optimistic than most you see on wordpress nowadays so thanks!

    1. I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I originally added it by mistake, but I liked the way it let the first line stand apart. It may not be grammatically correct, leaving the second and third lines as an incomplete sentence, but it seemed to fit better with the overall piece. Thank you for the kind words!

  2. Firstly, thank you because I learned a new work. I was not familiar with “bokeh,” and now, I am. Secondly, “the bits of light that remain are kept safe in my heart,” simply exquisite, Sarah.
