Sarah, the pain in your poem and the hope in the title takes the reader through a full range of emotions. I cannot begin to imagine what you experienced but feel blessed to share what has emerged through your wonderful poetry.

You can run away from it, trying, to EVADE your pasts from haunting you like those who’d done so in my life, or, you can do like I had, find out the truths about what actually happened, go through the breakdown and eventually, you will come out above, because we are NOT that easily broken at all, we are NO porcelain dolls here!!!
You’re right. Unfortunately my memories were much worse than I thought possible. I refuse to give in, but at the same time, it’s a long process to overcome all those years of development and wiring. Thank you for the kind words. 😊

“Never Give Up” is the perfect title for this. Because that’s what I have been doing for the last twenty-something years. And that’s exactly what all of us survivors will hopefully continue to do. It’s hard, but giving up means he wins. And I’m not willing to let him win. Not today. Tomorrow will be another struggle, but today I choose me.
that really saddens me to read that, I never went through it, but I could imagine the horror of living with it every day. x be strong, you are a tough woman if you had to go through that.

This one made me tear up Sarah. Although I wasn’t on my back, my childhood was definitely filled with violence and pain.😔 It’s unfathomable the abuse that’s inflicted upon children, who are both innocent and our hope for the future.

Oh I see. I apologize, I’ve had a migraine for nearly two weeks now. Yes, someone like Dexter would be ruthless with someone like that. He was fiercely protective of his kids.
