Oh, that is heart-wrenching! Hearing those words from a love one must feel like the world came crashing down on you. Hearing such hopelessness and futility in such simple words, bringing so much pain at the thought of a miserable ending.
Damn that’s quite the thought.
I wonder if that’s what’s thought of me. I’ve given up of dreams and living a life that there’s nothing to fight for.
It’s a wonderfully thought provoking piece.
I think this one deserves an award because it can be interpreted in an infinite number of ways, none of which will really satisfy. It’s like “Life” one day saying, I’ll make me a universe… then sitting down and thinking on which one of the infinite ways to proceed in putting that thought to work.
True. Sadly, so. Sometimes the best fight we can give is by just ‘breathing’, hanging on there and not throwing in the towel despite the punches life throws at us.
Speaking as a person who fights for people: you fight as long as you are able, hoping that they will fight to get to you too, because that is neccesary too. If they won’t or can’t, at some point, despite desire and love, you lose the will to fight. It can’t be maintained forever. But it is, infinitely, sad when it happens.

Ah, but you haven’t given up your life. There’s a difference from altering or changing your life’s goals and losing all desire to live.

There was nothing left to fight for… Such sad words. So defeated and resigned. It’s the words of letting go. 😦

Yes, exactly! We can’t always rely on someone else to fight our battles for us. 😊
