This is lovely and reminds me of the line ‘that my heart no longer feels, the great weight of ordeals, that can make this life so unkind,’ from Shape of my Heart by Noah and the Whale. That whole album has the heart motif running though it.
Sarah I too loved this – I felt it was so apropos for that heaviness we may at times feel in our hearts, and I loved how you used a scale both physically and metaphorically it worked so well – you know how to write a lot in a small amount and that’s a real art. xo
Oh, I definitely understand what you mean. That was the idea, a physical and metaphorical presence. I’ve found we’re weighed down by many things, and most of it settles in our hearts.
Yes, it is. I think authenticity is something (especially in social media, not necessarily blogging) that is rare. I’ve seen so many people sacrifice being real for the sake of promoting themselves. I think if you’re real, people will naturally want to be a part of it. And if you have something to offer, they’ll be there to support it. 😊😊💖
Good grief that’s so true about social media (but not blogging as you say) it’s so true that people sacrifice themselves in order to promote, totally amen to that if you are real I do believe it wins out in the end very wise and true words I completely agree my friend
Gosh Sarah, this really touched me. I think it’s because I am a bit emotional today. It has been raining since I awakened and whenI went to sleep last night, it was the same. This is beautifully sad, yet so incredibly well-written.

Truly lovely. It reminds me very much of Ma’at. I wonder how our hearts would weigh up against the feather on her scales.
