Your Ghost

We burned hotter than the sun
and then in the blink of an eye,
we fizzled out like
a broken, dead star.
The memory of your skin
against mine haunts me at night.
At least the memories keep me warm.

  1. That almost indescribably short love, so bright one moment, the next, dull. I wonder at that often, you gave words to those wonderings but also on another level this is apropos for a certain election!
