I was lost in oblivion,
searching for you.
After what felt like an eternity,
I collapsed, exhausted,
and admitted defeat.
But then you were there
and lit up my world with your light.

so true of lots of relationships. we embark on ‘trips’ to find the right person for us, search all over with futility, only to return to where we left them – right beside us.

How can you do it? So few words with so much meaning. Thanks for sharing.

I start with some idea of concept. I either emphasize the situation, or remember how I felt when it happened to me, and then I write. Once I do, I carefully choose the words and sometimes change some of them to make a greater impact. It’s taken me a while to learn how to do it. It just takes practice. 😊

Interesting how the harder you try to find something, the more you couldn’t, but the moment you forget about what you’re trying to find, VOILA, there it is!!!

When I read this especially ‘But then you were there/and lit up my world with your light.’ I immediately thought of God because He lights up my world with His light. Beautiful piece, Sarah. ❤

I knew that many would see this in a religious light. I like that my words could do that. 😊

Sometimes it is not in the searching, but in the awareness of what is already there!

You are in me deep
Your self the light are
Even in dark nights
Covered with dark clouds
Heart filled with dark demons
I walk with love for you
And trust you will show me
The path always

So many of us wish to find ‘that person’ and search and search. I am glad in this instance, that person was found, so often they are not. It is almost a miracle these days! (beautiful words)

I love how this could be about searching for that one right love or it could be a search for God. Either way, beautiful. Especially this line: “But then you were there and lit up my world with your light.” 🙂

Wow, this is really touching. Thank you for the like on my character sketch, by the way. That character is from my upcoming science fiction story, “Sojourn” of which the first volume will be published in March of 2017. Check out the first chapter on Amazon under my pen name, “Fidus Jungsturm.”
