I see their faces — the demons
that haunt the deepest recesses
of my mind, but I look them
in the eye and stare them down
with a growl in my throat,
refusing to let them win.
And I won’t. This wolf
is ready to fight back.
This wolf was strong
It will be strong again
In the dark world of yours
He came to hold you
Making you fight the demons
Instead of kissing him forever
You gifted him tears forever
This Wolf is crying
This Wolf is sad
He fears the darkness
The demons nibbling the soul
But he knows
He will be strong again
The Navajo have a proverb, literally translated – “Coyote is always out there, and Coyote is always hungry.”
A reminder to keep the growl in your throat, in case you need it.
“who´s afraid of the big bad wolf” come across in my mind/head because of this.

belief, real belief. to twist a phrase, it’s not the wolf in the fight, it’s the fight in the wolf that counts. real nice.
