I handed my heart
to the moon
for safe keeping,
knowing she was the one
that could protect it at all costs.

    I asked how to write you a love song,
    I didn’t need it to be very long
    They say, “The moon has your tune
    But you need to leave soon
    Or the tune will just pack up and get gone”
    So I found me a boat and rowed to the moon
    Where I asked for that crazy old tune
    The lady that was there say, “Don’t be no square
    Or go lookin’ everywhere
    For what’s as simple as a song about love”

    This little exercise has done more to cast the clouds and shadows out of your writing than an extra rinse and spin cycle. It’s nice to see you where the sun shines. Keep it up.

  2. Interesting to note, that every month I do a full moon exercise. It’s tonight. Supposed to increase intuition. But, at some point, you can just think about the moon, and that’s enough. I’m going to step outside and do it. I don’t howl at the moon, it would wake the neighbors. Like the poem. It says a lot.
