Disenthralled Asylum

It took decades to disenthral from the asylum
of the master’s mind, but refusal to submit
was the answer to my salvation.

  1. I read this first as a character POV excerpt, then as Classic TSD mind warp, then as contextual social statement, then in a religious/cult context. I don’t know which one I prefer. They’re all great.

  2. Reading up on “gaslighting” this morning; then I read this and it hit me kind of hard. I loved it anyway. Your way with words is just so beautiful and succinct.
