The pen’s tip tore
through her flesh
with a slow, trembling hand,
leaving behind indecipherable
flourishes and ligatures,
and a pool of her own blood.

  1. So now that book title blog prod month is over you’re telling us what it was like, right? Easily impressed, not easily fooled…nice work!

  2. Shoot, short and straight to the point again Sarah, I feel I often emotionally bleed into the page when writing….this is, for me, very metaphoric….thanks for sharing 😊

    1. I’ve read a lot recently about cutters, and how they practically idolize their instruments, and feel euphoria when they cut through their flesh. Though it looks extremely painful, they seem to bear those wounds with pride. That’s what inspired this piece.
