Frozen Shell

Poetry

winter-260831_1920

The stagnant air suffocates me, like all the oxygen was long since pulled into the vacuum of space. Crimson slush flows through my veins, and icicles have formed around my lifeless heart. I feel the warm bodies around me, but they never penetrate through my iced flesh. With every exhalation of my lungs, I see the fog fall toward the ground. And yet, no one notices that I’m alive, trapped behind this frozen shell.
