Manners. Etiquette. Propriety. Essentials to a successful life in polite society. Established to control every facet of our lives, we conformed, sacrificing wants and desires for the sake of making our family names a part of prominence. But people needed to worry about what happened in the shadows, behind closed doors. What would they think if they knew the truth behind the mask?

Nice words and so very true. I also like the image you posted although Mr Midnight, from the blog “Gilmours Nice Place” was a little disturbed by its appearance. He frightens easily but Sir Winston and myself calmed him down. After I explained what it was all about he decided he liked he photo. Cats can be so “difficult” sometimes . . . 🙂 Best of greetings from the Black Forest.

The rock photo is a nice touch. The bedrocks of society are often those with the most questionable foundation.

That’s one of the reasons I chose the macro of a tree. It has variations in depth, color, and textures. It’s much like faces and masks, all different.

Writing is ablution, a search for the face behind the mask. Only real faces make it here !
Well written.

So wonderfully written. Everything behind my mask? They’d think I need to be committed, probably…

I think many of us would be committed. 😝
